    Welcome To UMSC Scoliosis Centre

Scoliosis Centre, University Malaya is the national referral centre for scoliosis cases in Malaysia, especially for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). We specialize in scoliosis care and offer advanced treatment options in preventing progression as well as in surgical management of spinal deformity in both adolescent and adult patients.

In this centre, we offer scoliosis screening, bracing and all aspects of conservative care for scoliosis patients. We are staffed by dedicated orthotists (who fabricate and fit braces and other supports) and physical therapists who would be able to optimize non-surgical management of scoliosis care. When surgery is required, our comprehensive multidisciplinary team has a proven track record and would ensure that you and your family experience a smooth and pleasant journey. Since January 2006, the Scoliosis Centre in University Malaya has performed successful operations in approximately 1000 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients. In this centre, we have a multi-disciplinary scoliosis team which consists of renowned, experienced and compassionate scoliosis surgeons, anesthesiologists dedicated to scoliosis correction surgery, a competent team of operative nurses, a spinal cord monitoring team/neurophysiologists (who monitor brain and spinal cord function during surgery), implant specialists as well as a friendly group of patient care coordinators focusing on providing the highest quality of care.
